11 More Questions

I was once again nominated for the Leibster blog award but I am too lazy to keep on tagging folk to do it so I am going to cheat like last time and just answer the 11 questions! I was nominated by the lovely Carol at flittychick fancies so thank you very much for thinking of me! You can read my answers to some previous questions here. And without further ado and my usual start-of-post babble, here we go...

1. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I can't say I have ever counted my shoes but I do own a fair few, as does the average female. Did you know the average female buys around 7 pairs of shoes every year? I would say I possibly buy a few more than that, but not too many more. The low prices in Primark are so hard to resist.

2. What is the one makeup item you cannot live without?
Oooooh it's so hard to choose just one. I do like my mascara because it makes me look so awake and put together but I would have to say my concealer because of my awful skin which is covered in blemishes and spots. However, it is looking really quite good at the mo with minimal spots so maybe things are looking up! I am set to go on Roaccutane on the 24th of July or something like that, which you can read about here.

3. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy for yourself?
A car. I don't care if I am not yet old enough to drive one, I just desperately want one. Although this is currently still a faraway dream as I am still 6 months away from being legally allowed to actually buy a lottery ticket.

4. What did you want to be when you grew up? And did it come true?
Well I can't answer the 'did it come true' part just yet, but I would like to someday either study journalism or psychology at university.

5. Wine or vodka?
Vodka, definitely vodka.

6. What is your favourite animated movie?
Oh I do love my animated movie. Monsters Inc. Tangled. Despicable Me. Up. Lady and the Tramp. The Lion King. Damn it is so hard to choose just one of them.

7. Have you ever left the continent you were born on?
I have indeed. Several times actually. I have been to Spain a lot on family holidays, I have been to France once with the fam and Paris once on a school trip with my friends which was awesome. In 2008 I went to Canada for a weekend (yes, I flew all that way for a WEEKEND. Talk about jet lag) for my sister's wedding and then in 2011 I went to America where she currently lives to visit her, her husband and my gorgeous nephew. I am going to America again this year to see them and then I am off the Nepal for a 3 week expedition next year! Read about my upcoming Nepal trip here.

8. What is the most unusual thing you have in your handbag? Right now?!
A teaspoon. Go on, laugh. I give you permission to have a little chuckle at my expense. I was at work the other day (I work in a restaurant) and I must have been clearing a table and stuck a teaspoon in the pocket of my apron because I had loads to carry and I ended up coming home with it still in my apron. It's in my handbag to bring back with me next time I am in.

9. Summer clothes of winter clothes?
Summer clothes, without a doubt. I love the pretty dresses and skirts and shorts and sandals and wedges and flip flops and sunglasses and bikinis and the pastel colours and anything else that can be associated with summer. Summer usually also means going on holiday too for me which includes buying a whole new wardrobe which is INCREDIBLY exciting. I am slowing nearing the weight limit of my suitcase right now and my bedroom floor is piled high with new clothes that don't even fit in my drawers.

10. Favourite website to shop online?
ASOS because there is a massive range of things to choose from, including stuff from other retailers such as River Island. I love ordering River Island stuff through ASOS because it is all current items which are being sold on the River Island website but with the delivery (free ASOS delivery all the way!!!)

and finally...

11. What's your favourite magazine?
I'm not too picky when it comes to magazines, as long as it doesn't have a million and one different full page adverts which result in about 15 pages of actual fashion and other goodness (ie. Elle). I love Look magazine, Glamour and Company the most.

May Beauty Favourites

I don't care how many people have already said this at the start of their May Favourites posts but I am going to say it anyway - WHERE THE HELL HAS THIS YEAR WENT?! I can't believe time has flown past so quickly. Every year time seems to pass quicker and quicker. I don't like it! I don't want to grow up! I want to be a kid forever! That aside, here is my favourites for the quickest month on the history of Earth. Make sure to tell me if you have used any of these products in the comments section below and what you thought of them!

Tresemme 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray
I desperately needed a new hairspray earlier this month so I popped round to my local Asda and picked up this because it was on special offer (why would I ever pay full price for something, eh?). I didn't buy it because I had heard great things about it - to be honest I don't think I have personally read another blogger even mention it. Turns out I bloomin love it. As far as hairsprays go, it has a pleasant smell and doesn't give you that dreaded 'crispy' hair texture.

Soap & Glory Face Soap and Clarity
I have had this product for a little while now and after having a major clearout of my room (making space for new summer clothes of course) I found this little gem, along with piles and piles of other stuff that I forgot I even owned. It leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean, fresh and soft afterwards and smells delightful. I even think it has helped clear up my acne a little bit in the 2 weeks that I have been using it.

Soap & Glory Heel Genius
I have never really been one to use foot creams and whatnot but I got a big Soap & Glory gift set a while back and this was in it. I slap a ton of it all over my feet before going to bed and slip on a pair of socks to allow my skin to soak it in better and when I wake up in the morning, I have the softest feet in the world. With summer hopefully just around the corner in Scotland, I am mentally and physically preparing my body for the warmer weather. Wishful thinking, I know.

bareMinerals Matte SPF15 Foundation 'Medium Beige'
I bought this at the start of the month after using up all of my bareMinerals Original Foundation (review here), I decided to go for the matte version instead. Whilst it does not keep all of the shine at bay on my super duper oily face, it does look a lot better than the original one. I do still powder a tiny bit a couple of times a day but no where near as much as the original one. One thing, however, about this foundation compared to the original is it seems to be a little drier and is therefore a bit harder to buff into the skin.

bareMinerals SPF20 Concealer 'Summer Bisque'
This teams up perfectly with the foundation to cover any redness I have left over because my skin is so atrocious. The colour is absolutely perfect for me, which is surprising since it was a total guess from a picture on the internet. Good full coverage and SPF20 which makes it even better.

Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express mascara
I love love LOVE this mascara. I bought it on offer in Boots because my other everyday mascara had dried up and I genuinely believe that this is the best mascara I have ever owned. It lengthens, seperates and volumises - everything you could ever ask for. The big brush does make it a little tricky to apply - I have to carefully wipe my eyelids every day, trying not to touch my eyelashes and make them all clump together before it is dried. But apart from that... amazeballs.

Eyelash curlers
I also started properly using eyelash curlers everyday for the first time this month and have been seeing an incredible difference to how my eyelashes look. I have finally perfected the technique of doing it and it works brilliantly with the Maybelline mascara.

Revlon Lip Butter 'Berry Smoothie'
I don't think I am ever going to stop- loving this. The colour is gorgeous, the texture is gorgeous, the packaging is gorgeous and overall it is just a - that's it, you guessed it - gorgeous lip product.

Max Factor Max Effect Mono Eye Shadow '02 Creme Champagne'
This is just a perfect everyday colour for me. I don't tend to wear strong eyeshadow that often but I do like a little bit of something to stop creasing of any concealer or foundation occurring on my eyelids. This is very subtle but looks lovely all over the lid for a nice simple daytime look.
